March

March means Kiwanis Music Festival! The girls have been practicing hard to get their piano songs ready. This was Lexi's first time playing the piano in the festival. There was no primary choir this year, and neither are in the Elementary School Choir (Gr. 3&4 only), so it was just piano. They both did great. I really love listening to them play at festival. Its such a great opportunity to play for strangers and an adjudicator that usually gives some helpful tips. It really expands their learning and gets them used to playing for an audience. Plus, they get to miss school which is a bonus to them!

Kennedy is in level 3 books. Lexi is in the beginner book.

Kennedy had 2 pieces.

Lexi's piece was first, and I completely forgot about pictures! This is the only one I have of her. She did great.

Icecream date afterwards. Lexi got icecream with Dad a different day.

Brian and I wanted to get away for a weekend for a course, we looked around and found one in Chicago! That was a place on our list to visit, so we booked it. We were both very excited that the Bulls were in town too, that was a highlight to go see the Chicago Bulls play!

Our really cool hotel looking over Lake Michigan.

view from our room. Lake Michigan and Navy Pier

We also did an architectural boat tour which was AWESOME! Lots of locals told us to do it, and it was well rated on trip advisor. It was neat to hear all about the history of the city. It sure was chilly, but we really liked the tour.

Dinner at Michael Jordan's Steakhouse!! SOOOO good.

And the NBA Game!! It was so cool being in the Stadium where Michael Jordan played. The only team I watched and cared about as a kid. I love MJ. I have good memories of my brother and I watching Michael Jordan play!

We both got free hats when we came in the stadium, but Brian bought a nice one there. I bought the jersey off kijiji before I left home.

We had a really good time in Chicago, and lots of time together since Brian realized the night before we left for the city that he had booked the wrong weekend for the Denturist course!!!! He was looking up the time and address and was confused he had emails saying thanks for attending the course. He had booked the weekend previous, not the one we were actually going! Oh Brian!!! Too bad he missed that!

Easter weekend in Stirling. I have very few pictures sadly, but Southern Alberta got dumped on! So we had lots and lots of snow and cold. Not great for Easter! yuck. Go away snow.

Olds kept getting the snow too. At least Lexi loved it.
