July part 2

Surveyor's Lake at Kikomun Creek Provincial Park in BC. Its a gorgeous little lake near Fernie, and it has LOTS of TURTLES!!!! :) We were all excited about that! Most of the same crew was there - Kaylani, Perry, the 2 boys, Thompsons, Jeff and a couple kids, Grandma and Grandpa and  us. We had SO MUCH FUN!!! I would come back to this place every single year! It was right over Kennedy's birthday, so she got to celebrate with lots of cousins around :)

Not too far away, about 20 minutes, is some pretty awesome cliff jumping. Its a hike to get to, but Grandma made it up with her bad ankle! Lots of the kids and the moms (and dads) jumped off the 20 foot cliff which looked way higher! Kaylani said go big or go home and jumped off the 25 foot one, but it was off a teeny tiny little ledge and you had to aim where you jumped. There was no way I was doing that one. Then Perry and his boys decided to do the HUGE 40 foot one which looked insane. Brian and Mark sat there debating a LONG time. Brian took the plunge because he thought Mark was and he couldn't be shown up, but then Mark couldn't do it! I don't blame him at all, that thing is crazy high. Perry even went higher and did the 50 foot one, and really hurt his body on the landing. He barely cleared the rocks and by trying to force his body forward so much he landed more at an angle than feet first. His whole back side and arm was bruised black and blue!!!

thinking about it.....mmmm....maybe not....

a million hours later! Devonee and I just waiting and waiting at the bottom!

I love this one because his shadow on the rock looks awesome. He has no head!

We loved finding turtles!

This was so funny. The lake is about a 4 minute drive from our campsites so we'd pile all in with boards on the back of the truck. How many people can fit in a truck??

well....6 in the back.

2 in the drivers seat! I was driving, but then Brian came and shoved in, putting me on his lap

And Grandma in the passenger seat! 9 people in a 5 seater truck.

love Ty poking out in both of these photos!

the big 40 foot one, from Kate's perspective.

love this one. Thats Brian and Kaylani, Jeff and Mark and Devonee.

the kids were going a cake war in the sand! It was awesome.

Brian doing a headstand...yet has trouble balancing on his feet on the paddle board! So silly!
