exercising

I've always worked out. I love it. I've never gone long without exercise. I would exercise until I absolutely no longer could when I was pregnant and start up when the doc said I could at 6 weeks post-partum. That's just me. It makes me feel good, and I enjoy it. But, I struggle with my diet. I just love sweets and french fries. I love food. I try to keep portions to a normal serving, but sometimes I lose focus. I'm still proud of how Brian and I are doing, and being healthy is SUPER important to us. Its good for our kids to see us exercise and eating healthy so they learn good habits.

In January, Brian and I started a new workout plan. P9oX  is what we are doing. For the first month, we followed it all almost to a T. the nutrition guide is strict, but we followed it except for adding in one portion of carbs (because one is not enough!!) We ate no sugar, chocolate, processed foods, white flour or pop. It was great.

For the second month, we changed our nutrition plan to eating smart but just counting calories. That means I can still eat cupcakes and chocolate and have jam on my toast. We are now finished month 2 out of 3. I lost 5 pounds the first week into this, but sadly, have lost nothing since. Its frustrating that now that I eat pretty normal again, I still stay the same weight, and even when I cut everything out, it stays on.

I wonder what we'll do next! How do you exercise? Dance, swim, run??

My very favorite nutrition expert/books is Tosca Reno. She has great books and cookbooks all about "clean eating" and everything I tried was really good. I seriously love them and recommend them to anyone who is interested in healthy eating. Worth reading :) And can I just say you are amazing for exercising regularly! That's where I have problems....

Remind me to come back and read this when I can finally exercise again. You are inspiring.
For actually trying to shed pounds I did it by having smaller meal portions and then only allowing myself one snack between meals that was no more then 100 cals. Combined with running it seemed to do the trick.
Honestly though, I can't imagine that you have any more weight to drop. You looked fabulous when I last saw you.

Debbie Siebers has some really awesome videos- she's part of the same group as P90X.
