We woke her up with 2 of her favourite things- cinnamon buns and fruit. Her birthday was a Sunday, so we went to church and after church my family showed up for dinner. We had her favourite- steak! Her two favourite foods are steak and salmon- is she really turning six??!
Then we had cake and opened presents. She had a great day. For her birthday, she really wanted to go to Calaway Park, so we went there on Saturday with my mom and Jessica. It was crazy hot but the girls love it there! Its so nice to spend the whole day as a family!
A couple days before her real birthday, we had her birthday party at the lake! She invited a bunch of friends and we met at the lake. The weather didn't turn out as sunny and hot as we hoped, but the kids didn't mind. They played in the sand while the moms sat in our sweaters!! It did warm up and they played in the water. Our friends, the Larsons, brought their boat and gave all the kids a ride which they loved!!! I made hotdogs for lunch, with fruit and chips, and brought cupcakes too. It was so nice doing it at the lake- there was no mess and I didn't have to do any games!! They just went and played together!!
We adore our precious Kennedy. She is a very sweet and considerate girl. Always willing to share with her friends and her sister. She is VERY social!! She pretty much can't handle being alone. She'll go crazy. She always wants to go for playdates or have friends over. She can make friends anywhere. If we are at the park, she'll find someone to play with and make an instant best bud. She loves the monkey bars, her bike, running fast, eating chips, princesses and barbies and pretty much anything to do with outside. She is super active in the summer. While Lexi is happy to come inside and watch a movie, Kennedy will always choose running outside with friends.
Lexi turned three!! She is obsessed with Dora, so a Dora cake is what she chose! Because Kennedy got to go to Calaway Park for her birthday, Lexi really wanted that too! Luckily, Lexi's birthday is usually Thanksgiving Weekend, so it is the last weekend the park is open. Its actually so nice to go in the Fall- its all decorated for Halloween and just a light sweater was enough.
My parents, Becky and the boys, and Kris and Tyson again came down for the day to spend the day with Lexi. We had dinner and cake and opened presents. You can't help but love Lexi Loo. She is a sweet little girl with spunk. She knows what she wants and what she doesn't want. She loves movies, swings, playing with Kennedy, snuggles, the color yellow and keeping up with big kids. She always makes us laugh with the things she says.
Kennedy wanted to give Lexi a present all on her own, so she wrapped up her recorder (something she knows Lexi loves and gave it to her) so sweet.
Brian turned 30 this year! We had a quiet day for him, but the two of us celebrated in Calgary for the whole weekend while Jess babysat. We had some yummy food at the Keg, did some shopping, got massages and enjoyed the hotel hot tub.
And I had a birthday too! I turned 27. I had the BEST weekend. We went to Edmonton and I got to spend the whole day crafting and hanging out with Becky while the kids
Then, she so generously watched our girls for us while Brian took me out. We went to the Sawmill, then bowling then to a hotel. In the morning, after we made a delicious breakfast in our suite, we met up with Becky and Ernesto and all the kids to go to the West Edmonton Mall waterpark. Then spent the night at her house and left on Sunday morning which was my actual birthday. For dinner that night, Brian spoiled me with a lovely dinner he made and a brownie and icecream for dessert.
The next day, my lovely friends in Olds made me lunch. I love getting together with them to just chat and hang out.
Birthdays are pretty special!! I love spoiling my loved ones and I love to be spoiled!! We are so lucky to have wonderful friends and family.
