Green smoothies

Recently, I have discovered how amazing green smoothies are. My girls LOVE them! Here is how I make them:

About 2-3 tbsp yogurt ( always raspberry activia)
Frozen berries (fresh works too, but I prefer frozen)
Spinach (about 1/2c - 1 cup)
Flax (1 tbsp ish)
100% orange juice 1/4c. Ish- no sugar added
Protein powder( optional- about 1/2 scoop- I don't put this in for the girls. if they are sharing mine, I just put in a tiny bit) 
Sometimes, red food coloring  
Blend it up! 


My protein powder is strawberry flavored so it helps with the color. If you keep this out, or if you use fresh berries, then I add a few drops of red food coloring so it's not a nasty browny- green color. I love that it's so healthy and my girls are getting spinach! I only use real orange juice( its usually in the cardboard box in the pantry aisle).  And I don't own a blender, I use the magic bullet.   If you can taste the spinach too much, a banana works to mask the taste. We like it with just berries. Enjoy!
