What an adventure that was! it was so much fun. Brian and I had a blast. We shopped, went to the stampede, ate out, saw Pirates of the Carribean, and even got MASSAGES!! it was so nice. i loved it. The best was seeing the Phantom of the Opera. We were so close to missing it though! we got there (after running all the way from the car to the theatre in my 2" heels) and we sat down and it started! talk about cutting it close!!! If we were any later we would have been locked out and missed the entire first half! phew! we made it! The stampede was totally fun. lots of things to see and eat! When we planned on going to the stampede it was raining like crazy, so instead we went and got a massage. it was a beautiful thing. i think i am addicted to those now. i could get one every day and be a happy girl. All in all, it was a wonderful weekend. It lasted longer than we thought it would, however. When we came back to our car late Sunday night, to drive home, our car wouldn't start.
Turns out someone left the lights on (couldn't have been me!). Our battery was dead. The parkade was closed, and noone was around. We called our bosses, and they agreed, we are stuck for the night! We had to sleep in the car! (all hotels would have been long booked and very very expensive, so yes, we slept in a little toyota tercel! ya know, i have been more comfortable in my life. so then on Monday, we find out the parkade is closed, so noone is around to help us. after walking around SAIT trying to find the automotive ppl to help us, and security can't either, we decided to take the LRT to the mall and buy jumper cables from Zellers. Well, wouldn't you guess it, they have none. They do however, have a kit that you can jump start your own vehicle, but it needs to charge for 20 hours before you can use it! So we try Sears, and KAL-Tire, and Home Depot all the while walking outside in the POURING RAIN! Home Depot sends us to Napa or Part Source, so we call instead of walking in the rain for nothing. Turns out they both have it. so we walk all the way to Part source, which is 18 blocks away. Good thing its pouring! yes, it was definetly an adventure. So we get the cables and now have to walk back to the LRT station, which is past the mall, luckily it stopped raining. Then the weird guy at the parkade said he could overide the system and let someone in to help us. We didn't have to wait long for a car to drive by. 5 hours later, we were on the road again. back to Edmonton. back home. back to the sane city!
Despite all this, Brian and I had the most awesome weekend and still laughed all through this. good times.
have a great day everyone!
